Brazilian fragrance brand O Boticário announced the launch of its EGEO Cogu and EGEO Cogu Mellow fragrances in the United States. These fragrances were created with the Boletus edulis mushroom, which offers unique gourmand notes.
Boletus edulis, also known as porcino mushrooms, is a large fungus typically found in deciduous and coniferous forests. Recent research has shown that the fungus keeps its aromatic effects even after drying.
The two fragrances were developed in collaboration with German fragrance house Symrise. The brand describes them as a “fun and unconventional olfactory experience with a mushroom accord complemented by captivating gourmand notes.”
“We identified this ingredient as an emerging trend closely connected to Gen Z, and saw an opportunity to deliver unprecedented innovation and sensory experiences,” said branding and communication director Carolina Carrasco. “The accord created with the Boletus edulis mushroom is a rare raw material in perfumery, which strengthens O Boticário’s avant-garde positioning and leverages our decades of expertise to present a world-first olfactory experience.”
EGEO Cogu and EGEO Cogu Mellow are available for purchase exclusively on the brand’s website.
